Nawab was Director of Epidemiology and Evidence-based Medicine, GSK (1997-2005); he trained under and worked with Professor Sir Richard Peto F.R.S., and was founding editor of the Cochrane Dementia Group. Nawab also trained in general internal medicine and geriatrics under Professor Sir John Grimley Evans and was Honorary Consultant Physician at the Radcliffe Infirmary, Oxford (1997-2000), and St's Mary's Hospital, London (2005-2006). He was the originator of the Prospective Studies Collaboration: individual participant data meta-analysis of 61 of the largest prospective cohort studies from 4 continents.
Among CROs in Europe, Nawab provides clients with a unique combination of high quality epidemiological and clinical experience (honorary consultant physician - "board-certified" equivalent in the USA) covering many therapeutic areas. He has sat on many Steering/Scientific committees as an expert in clinical epidemiology.

Kirsten Rennie - MA (Cantab), MPhil, PhD
Kirsten Rennie  - MA (Cantab), MPhil, PhD

Director of Epidemiology and Head of OXON Office in London, UK.  

She has 20 years of experience in epidemiology. Her research has included working on several large national and international cohort studies, particularly in metabolic diseases. Kirsten has published more than 50 peer-reviewed papers in epidemiology and co-authored 4 book chapters. She conducts pharmaco-epidemiological research including evidence reviews, feasibility assessments, study design planning and statistical analyses of cohort and healthcare databases.  

Kirsten has a MPhil and PhD in Epidemiology (and MA in Archaeology) from the University of Cambridge and is a Senior Visiting Lecturer in Epidemiology at University of Hertfordshire, UK. 

Lorenzo Dominguez - MD MPH
Lorenzo Dominguez - MD MPH

Director of Operations, Lorenzo is a medical doctor and epidemiologist with over 18 years of experience in conducting observational and "late phase" studies in southern Europe and is based in Madrid, Spain. Lorenzo previously worked as an epidemiologist at AstraZeneca and the international CRO, SGS.

Ignacio Mendez - VMD MPH
Ignacio Mendez - VMD MPH

Director of Health Economics and Outcomes Research, Ignacio has more than 17 years of experience in health economics, patient reported outcomes and statistical methodology. He specialises in the application and analysis of PROs and health economic measures in observational studies and decision analysis. Ignacio has previously worked at the CRO, TAIS. He is currently a member of the ENCePP HTA task force of the EMA.

Marta Mariño BSc
Marta Mariño BSc

Director of Product Safety, Marta was previously head of pharmacovigilance at Schering-Plough from 1995-2010 and has experience of all areas and phases of drug safety. She has specialised in the operational, quality and compliance aspects of safety in observational studies and patient registries. She also ensures quality and compliance of all the quantitative safety projects in OXON.

OXON works with world renowned academic experts in Oxford and London:

Stuart Pocock MA PhD, is a medical statistician (>30 NEJM, >40 Lancet) and Professor of Medical Statistics at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine. He has experience in epidemiology, trials and statistical methodology, including meta-analysis and EMA and FDA. He provides OXON advice on advanced analysis.

Jeffrey Aronson MA DPhil FRCP HonFBPhS HonFFPM, Honorary Consultant Physician and Clinical Pharmacologist, Oxford; President Emeritus of the British Pharmacological Society; Editor of Meyler's Side Effects of Drugs, 16th edition; a member of the Advisory Board of the British National Formulary; and a former member of an appraisal committee of NICE. He advises OXON on adverse drug reactions and NICE evaluations.


We have a highly skilled and experienced team of senior and junior epidemiologists specialised in multi-country observational primary data collection studies/patient registries, database studies, and synthesis of data sources for safety and Outcomes/HEOR.
