Nawab was Director of Epidemiology and Evidence-based Medicine, GSK (1997-2005); he trained under and worked with Professor Sir Richard Peto F.R.S., and was founding editor of the Cochrane Dementia Group. Nawab also trained in general internal medicine and geriatrics under Professor Sir John Grimley Evans and was Honorary Consultant Physician at the Radcliffe Infirmary, Oxford (1997-2000), and St's Mary's Hospital, London (2005-2006). He was the originator of the Prospective Studies Collaboration: individual participant data meta-analysis of 61 of the largest prospective cohort studies from 4 continents.
Among CROs in Europe, Nawab provides clients with a unique combination of high quality epidemiological and clinical experience (honorary consultant physician - "board-certified" equivalent in the USA) covering many therapeutic areas. He has sat on many Steering/Scientific committees as an expert in clinical epidemiology.
Director of Global Epidemiology and Database Analytics, Andy is a statistical epidemiologist who has specialised in databases. He has worked in the epidemiology departments of Pharmacia and Pfizer. He has worked at GPRD and THIN in the UK. Andy's last post was as Director of Epidemiology and Database Analytics for Europe for a US multinational scientific service provider. In this role he led a group of epidemiologists and programmers undertaking real world pharmacoepidemiological research using medical databases, epidemiological modelling as well as epidemiological and burden of disease support for the pharmaceutical sector. He is located in London.
Director of Epidemiological Field Studies, Lorenzo is a medical doctor and epidemiologist with over 18 years of experience in conducting observational and "late phase" studies in southern Europe and is based in Madrid, Spain. Lorenzo previously worked as an epidemiologist at AstraZeneca and the international CRO, SGS.
Director of Health Economics and Outcomes Research, Ignacio has more than 17 years of experience in health economics, patient reported outcomes and statistical methodology. He specialises in the application and analysis of PROs and health economic measures in observational studies and decision analysis. Ignacio has previously worked at the CRO, TAIS. He is currently a member of the ENCePP HTA task force of the EMA.
Director of Product Safety, Marta was previously head of pharmacovigilance at Schering-Plough from 1995-2010 and has experience of all areas and phases of drug safety. She has specialised in the operational, quality and compliance aspects of safety in observational studies and patient registries. She also ensures quality and compliance of all the quantitative safety projects in OXON.
We have CRAs and project managers specialised in observational field and database studies and patient registries for clinical, safety, PRO and
health economic outcomes to ensure appropriate operationalisation of our studies. This is very different from experience in trials.
OXON works with world renowned academic experts in Oxford, Cambridge, London and Uppsala in statistics, patient reported outcomes and drug safety, with whom we have had a long-standing relationship over many years. Additionally, we have clinical consultants with whom we consult for detailed clinical issues. This resource allows OXON to provide the most analytical and creative solutions for our clients.
